Our Services

Transmission Service

Automatic and manual transmission repair, fluid service, and performance optimization for German drivetrains.

Many German automatics use specially formulated fluids and 'lifetime' fills that, in reality, benefit greatly from periodic service. Proper transmission maintenance prevents harsh shifting, slipping and costly failures down the road.

Whether you need a routine fluid-and-filter service or a diagnosis of a shifting problem, we use the correct procedures and fluids for your specific gearbox.

Advanced Drivetrain Expertise · Factory-Level Diagnostics

Expertise in Complex German Drivetrain Systems

German transmissions are engineering marvels—the ZF 8-speed automatic (BMW, Audi), the DSG/S-Tronic dual-clutch (VW, Audi), Porsche's PDK, and Mercedes 7G-/9G-Tronic. Each demands technicians who understand its specific engineering, tolerances, and service protocols, plus the correct fluids and adaptation procedures.

ECU & TCU integration expertise: modern German vehicles rely on seamless communication between the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and Transmission Control Unit (TCU). Many drivability and shifting problems stem from this integration. Using ISTA, XENTRY, ODIS, and PIWIS we perform in-depth analysis, interpret complex fault codes, and identify intermittent issues that lesser shops miss—pinpointing root causes rather than guessing.

What We Do

Specialized Transmission Service & Repair

From routine fluid service to major internal repair—done with factory procedures and the correct German fluids.

ZF 8-Speed Automatic Service

The ZF 8-speed used across BMW and Audi requires specialist knowledge and the correct fluid.

  • Fluid & filter (pan) service every 50,000-60,000 miles
  • Shift-quality diagnosis
  • Mechatronic / valve-body service

DSG / S-Tronic Dual-Clutch

VW and Audi DSG/S-Tronic gearboxes need specialized fluid exchanges to stay crisp and reliable.

  • DSG fluid & filter every ~40,000 miles
  • Mechatronic unit adaptation
  • Clutch-pack diagnostics and shudder correction

Porsche PDK & Mercedes 7G/9G-Tronic

High-performance dual-clutch and multi-speed automatics demand precise fluid service and recalibration.

  • PDK fluid & filter service and recalibration
  • Mercedes 7G/9G-Tronic service; 722.9 conductor-plate work
  • Valve-body service and adaptation

Transfer Case & Differential (AWD)

xDrive, quattro, and 4MATIC systems have transfer cases and differentials requiring periodic fluid service.

  • Transfer-case fluid every 50,000-60,000 miles
  • Front/rear differential service
  • Diagnosis of vibration, clunking, and AWD fault lights

The "Lifetime Fluid" Myth Debunked

Many German manufacturers claim "lifetime" or "filled for life" transmission and differential fluids. Independent engineering analysis and real-world failure data prove this claim is dangerously misleading—fluid degrades from heat, contamination, and mechanical wear, leading to expensive failure if not serviced.

Regardless of manufacturer claims, we strongly advise transmission and differential service at proper intervals. Preventive fluid service ($300-$600) is insignificant compared to transmission or differential replacement ($4,000-$8,000+). We've seen countless failures that proper fluid maintenance would have prevented.

Drivetrain Malfunction Warning

The dreaded "Drivetrain Malfunction" message can indicate anything from a minor sensor fault to a serious internal transmission problem. Our advanced diagnostics identify the precise cause and restore proper function without unnecessary component replacement:

  • Failing mechatronic unit diagnosis
  • Worn clutch-pack identification
  • Software requiring adaptation reset
  • Sensor fault isolation

Common Issues

Transmission Problems We Solve

Rough or Delayed Shifting

Harsh engagement, flares, or delayed shifts—often resolved with proper fluid service, mechatronic work, or adaptation resets.

DSG Shudder & Hesitation

Dual-clutch shudder at low speed and hesitation, corrected with correct-spec fluid and clutch-pack diagnostics.

Leaks & Mechatronic Faults

Pan, seal, and mechatronic leaks, plus valve-body and conductor-plate failures—diagnosed and repaired with OEM parts.
